Product Description
Protect your motorcycle’s primary structure with the Genuine Royal Enfield Engine Guard Mount. This specialized OEM accessory (Part No: KXA00149) is a “breakaway” mounting kit designed to prioritize the safety of your bike’s non-replaceable main frame during a fall or collision.
Engineered at Royal Enfield’s state-of-the-art UK Technical Centre, the KXA00149 consists of a purpose-designed cast aluminum mount. In the event of a severe impact, the aluminum casting is intended to fracture or “sacrifice” itself, absorbing the energy that would otherwise be transferred directly to the motorcycle’s frame. To ensure the engine guard itself doesn’t detach and become a road hazard, a stainless steel forging is integrated into the rear of the casting to keep the guard captive even after the mount fails. This intelligent design significantly reduces repair costs by ensuring only the mount needs replacement rather than the entire frame.
Key Features:
-
Breakaway Safety Design: Engineered to fail under extreme stress to protect the motorcycle’s permanent chassis from deformation.
-
Hybrid Construction: Combines a lightweight aluminum casting with a high-strength stainless steel rear reinforcement for maximum security.
-
UK Engineered: Conceptualized and validated for durability and fitment at the Royal Enfield UK tech center.
-
Cost-Effective Repair: Available as a separate fixing kit, allowing riders to replace just the mount if damaged in a minor tip-over.
-
Black Powder-Coated: Features a durable matte black finish that blends seamlessly with the engine and frame of J-Series models.
