The 888102 Clutch Kit is a complete set that includes both the friction plates (lined with specialized abrasive material) and the plain steel plates. In a 500cc Royal Enfield, the clutch undergoes significant thermal stress due to the engine’s high torque output. Replacing only the friction plates often leads to premature failure if the steel plates are warped or glazed; this “Combined Kit” ensures a 100% fresh contact surface.
As a genuine OEM part, the friction material is specifically formulated to work with JASO MA2 wet-clutch oils (like Shell Advance AX7). It provides a progressive, predictable “bite” point, making gear shifts smoother and preventing the dreaded “clutch drag” in heavy traffic.
