Product Description
The 0 242 229 014 (WQR8DC) is specifically engineered to handle the thermal demands of the 346cc and 499cc Unit Construction Engines (UCE). As a resistor-type plug, it is designed to prevent electromagnetic interference with the bike’s TCI (Transistor Coil Ignition) or ECU (Electronic Control Unit), ensuring that your digital odometer and sensors function without glitches.
This plug features a large copper core for superior heat dissipation, which is critical for air-cooled engines during long highway runs. The nickel-plated threads provide a “non-seize” benefit, allowing for easy removal from the aluminum cylinder head even after extended service intervals. It replaces older versions like the WR7DC4 to offer better resistance against carbon fouling during city traffic.
Key Features:
-
UCE Main Ignition: The primary plug for the right-hand side of the cylinder head on all Twinspark models.
-
Resistor Technology: Suppresses electrical noise to protect sensitive on-board electronics and EFI systems.
-
Superior Heat Transfer: Large copper core helps maintain the optimal “self-cleaning” temperature to prevent soot buildup.
-
Anti-Seize Coating: Nickel-plated housing protects against corrosion in the spark plug well.
-
Gas-Tight Seal: Features a crush-wash gasket for a high-pressure seal, maintaining full engine compression.
