Product Description
The 570028 Locating Pin is a small but vital component for maintaining the mechanical integrity of the Unit Construction Engine (UCE) and older LS410 (Himalayan) platforms. These pins are press-fitted into specific guide holes in the crankcase.
Without these pins, engine covers or crankcase halves might shift slightly during assembly, leading to misaligned oil passages, uneven gasket pressure, and eventual oil leaks or internal wear. Because they are hardened steel, they do not compress, ensuring that the two mating surfaces stay in the exact position intended by the factory engineers.
Key Features:
-
Precision Machined: Ground to an exact 3mm diameter to ensure a “zero-tolerance” fit within the guide holes.
-
Hardened Steel Construction: Designed to resist shearing and deformation under the clamping force of the engine bolts.
-
Corrosion Resistant: Coated to prevent seizing within the aluminum engine cases, making future disassembly easier.
-
Critical Alignment: Ensures that gaskets and oil seals are perfectly centered during engine rebuilds.
-
Standard OEM Spec: Exactly the same pin used on the Royal Enfield assembly line.
